It’s a requirement of joining that you take out a Cycling Ireland or IVCA licence, it covers everyone involved from an insurance point of view. These leisure and race licences provide third party, personal accident insurance, and general club coverage for spins and events should you or one of your fellow members need to claim in the unfortunate case of an accident.
Club Spins
*Sunday Spin for registered club members only, departs at 9.00 am from Clontarf GAA club. Any changes due to weather or club supported events will be updated on our Website/Facebook Page or Twitter feed so always advisable to check if in doubt.
*Club Social Spin Thursday Evenings 7 pm from Clontarf GAA. We cycle up over Howth and stop for a coffee afterwards in the village.
This is an ideal spin for beginners to experience riding in a group as its not too long.
*Saturday Spin for registered club members only, departs Clontarf GAA club 9.00 AM. There are no assigned Road Captains and route/distance to be agreed by whoever turns up
Note all spins depart on time so be there at least 10 mins before to make sure you don’t miss them.
*All New Cyclists for 2019 are welcome to join from March 2019. All new members are required to complete a Training Day before joining the main groups.

Insurance and safety are paramount for new and existing members alike, non-insured cyclists who have been on 2 club spins and not registered will unfortunately not be accommodated. Note the introductory 2 Sunday spins are at your own risk as you are not insured until you’re a paid up member with CI.
*Please make sure your bike is Road Worthy and Mudguards and Helmets are COMPULSORY. Please bring appropriate clothing for the weather at the time. Feel free to post in the General Discussion forum if you’ve any questions, we’ve all been there
Bike checks will be carried out to ensure bicycles are roadworthy and in mechanical order.
Checklist of what to bring:
Water bottle with a drink (Electrolytes/Energy Mix advised)
Food (Energy bars, gels, fig rolls, dried apricots whatever your poison)
Money and phone (in a waterproof bag)
Rain jacket or gilet (always pack one of these with Irish weather)
Pump, tube, levers (mandatory to have spare tubes and tools, punctures and mechanicals regularly happen)
NOTE: There will be Road Captains assigned to all groups. Road Captains are responsible for the welfare of the group, the route, the duration of the spin etc. and all group members are asked to respect their direction and input. Any serious breach of protocol by any rider will be dealt with very seriously.
